So we have been super busy this fall. Carl has successfully moved to a new preschool. To the average family this would entail finding a school with openings and then moving there. For us it took about 6 weeks for everything to be finished for our move. After 14 calls I found a preschool that had the times we needed (they were the only ones), would take a 3.5 year old who was not potty trained and had no problem having a TSS in their room. Then we had to get approval for hours for the tss which means another evaluation. Then processing it through our wrap company then through the insurance company. After all of this we have to get ANOTHER evaluation from DART so their services can got to his new school (OT,PT, a developmentalist and speech therapy). Don’t worry this does not affect his outpatient therapy at the Children’s Institute! We still have OT and Speech there! Then we had to do our IEP plan and I think we are done. YEAH!!!!
CArl is thriving at his new preschool. His teachers are amazing. They are the nicest people and one of the teachers actually has a child with PDD-NOS too. It is so wonderful because she understands how difficult it is for us as well as understands Carls struggles. Basically it is a dream come true that we found them. Carl played hide and seek today for the first time. It was so cute I thought I would cry!
Katrina is doing fabulously. She is two in all shapes forms and sizes. This I believe means that everything is NO, MINE and a temper tantrum. She is trying so hard to get her independence. IT is so cute to watch at times. Other times I am ready to sell her to the next person to walk by! Actually she is a wonderful little girl. She loves to play with her friends and toys. She has recently learned to ride a bike. It is so cute to see her peddle up and down the driveway. She also loves Little Einstein’s. Thank God we have moved past Dora and Diego. Don’t worry they still love them too but we just have a new show in the rotation.
Carl John is doing great. He just got a promotion at Google. We haven’t heard all the details yet. Hopefully we will hear soon. He has been traveling alot lately. He went to Virginia Tech last month and he is going to NYC 2 times this month! UGH! But this is all the trips until January. So most is going well.
Myself, I have discovered Zumba! I am taking a class at our local community college. It is so much fun. For those who don’t know about it, Zumba is an exercise dance program the takes latin, hip hop, african dance along with aerobic moves and mixes them together. Read the rest of this entry »
