This week I did ok. I lost 1.2 pounds. I haven’t done anything different but I was very happy that I lost after my very good loss last week. A lot of times if I have a very good loss I will lose less than a half apound the next week. I am hoping so much that I am looking good by the summer. I really want to look good in a bathing suit. I took the kids outside yesterday and it was so fun. We had an unseasonally warm day, 53! It was great to get out. I am hoping to do more of that. I am sure that will help my weight loss. So my grand total is up to 34.8 pounds! only 5.2 pounds to my second goal loss!

This evening it actually worked out that we could all sit down to dinner at the same time. Katrina was walking around the dinning room in her walked so it worked out nicely. About halfway through dinner Katrina noticed that we were eating and she wanted some. So we put her in her highchair hoping that it would full her until we were done. It however did not work. So I decided it would be funny to see if she would like zucchini. Turns out that she does!! It was so funny. She took a little bite and kinda thought and then got a huge smile. It was very cute. She ended up eating a little piece of it and then a little piece of pimento. That was really funny she didn’t know if it was terrible or OK. It will be interesting to see if all goes well with her digestion. It would be cool to be able to feed her some new stuff. Read the rest of this entry »

Last night Carl had a middle of the night visit from the Stomach-Sickness Fairy. It wasn’t all that surprising given that he spent much of Friday with one of his friends who also got sick 3 times during their playtime. But anyway you slice it, getting up at 2:30 AM to deal with that is never pleasant. He was surprisingly calm during the whole ordeal though. The worst part for him was how cold he was when I was giving him a quick sponge bath with a washcloth. Lisa was feeling a little queasy but pushed through it to change all his bedding.

Even if Carl doesn’t do much (if any) talking, he does actually know a few words and understands them. This afternoon we gave him a quick snack of some cheese before Lisa was going to get him to run outside for a bit. Since I happened to have the camcorder nearby I thought it would be neat to quiz him on tape. Now you can all see for yourself some of the words that he knows. It’s a 3:46 minute clip of Carl in his booster seat. It’s available as a 4.18 MB WMV movie. I apologize for the “Tears for Fears” in the background, but it was on the radio over DirecTV.
The actual quizzing starts almost 2 minutes into the clip.

So the last few days have been very exciting. Carl likes to read these little books that we got him for Christmas 2 years ago. SO we were reading on, The Little Train, and in it they talk about the train going whoo whoo, toot toot. Then as I was turning the page Carl said “TOOT TOOT”! I couldn’t believe it my child SPOKE!! It was very nice. I have been having alot of fun listening to Carl say “TOOT TOOT!” Well yesterday Carl got in trouble while eating dinner. We took his booster seat and faced it toward the wall until he could calm himself and he looked at the wall and said “nonononono” as she was shaking his head no!! I had thought that i had heard it earlier in the day but wasn’t to sure. I am just so happy. After having him not talk for so long, if he wanted to say no to everything I am not going to mind! It has been so very fun these last few days listening to him. I can’t wait to hear more. Read the rest of this entry »

We got Alex’s CT results back yesterday afternoon. She doesn’t have anything abnormal other than enlarged adenoids. We will be setting up an appointment with an ENT. The allergist said that the enlarged adenoids can cause recurrent sinus infections, stuffiness, and the headaches that Alex continues to have. WHEW! Read the rest of this entry »
